Whether you live in Calgary or Alberta, we are lucky enough to live in one of the best places on earth. Not only are we fortunate to live in a safe community, but Calgarians are generous individuals who are quick to show their support and appreciation for their community. At Alpine Insurance we are proud to support three diverse causes that are close to our hearts.

HEALTH

- Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas are destroyed.
- The disease attacks rapidly and individuals are left dependent on insulin for the rest of their lives.
- Thanks to generous donors, diabetes is closer to a cure than ever before.
- Learn more about JDRF and our friend Beth who is an active 7 year old living with this disease.
- Alpine supports JDRF through our referral program, donations and special events.

COMMUNITY

- Since 1997, Inn From the Cold has operated an emergency shelter offering hope and support to homeless families and individuals in Calgary.
- The goal of the organization is to eliminate homelessness in Calgary by 2018
- In 2010, the Inn served over 200 families, 300 children and served over 34,000 nutritious meals.
- Much more than a shelter, the Inn offers programs to help deal with the issues that create homelessness in the first place.
- Alpine Insurance supports Inn from the Cold through our referral program, donations and volunteer time.

Individuals We Support
We are also fortunate to know an incredibly generous group of friends and clients who are constantly involved in charity events. From Moovember to Marathons and the Walk to End Breast Cancer, we have been happy to support these individuals in their endeavours.
Rich Waller - New York Marathon, November 2010
Last Sunday I completed the New York Marathon, and it was an amazing experience! My finishing time was 4:13 which was slightly slower than what I had hoped for, but I’m still very happy with the time. I managed to raise $8,676.00 which was the highest amount from an individual on ‘Team NY Rotary’ which I was supporting. In fact it was more than double the next highest fundraiser, and for this I was awarded a commemorative plaque at ‘The Victory’ lunch for Rotary on Monday in New York. The award really goes to you, the amazing people that have supported me on this run and my goal of completing a marathon, you were truly an inspiration in helping me get across the finish line. You have all supported me along the way in one way or another, and I will be forever grateful for having such a great network of friends and family behind me. Rich Waller

Taylor Dods - Shave a Lid for a Kid, November 2010
